It’s summertime and a time of the year when people normally spend more time outdoors.  There is always lots of gardening to do, recreational activities to engage in and barbecues or picnics to attend.  This is the time of the year when we probably eat outside more than any other time of the year.

What is gelato?

Gelato tends to be creamier and silkier to the palate than ice cream.  This is because it is made mostly with milk instead of cream, therefore, it usually only has about 4-6% butterfat, where ice cream tends to have a 17-25% butterfat content.

Valentine’s Chocolates

We are ready to help you to surprise your loved one with a beautiful box of chocolates.  Most pre-packed items are available to order online through our website and have it shipped** or for pickup in the store. As in the past, The Frenchman’s Corner will be open extended hours on Friday, February 14th, until at least 8pm.

What is a truffle?

We often have customers ask, “What is a truffle?”  The simple answer is that it is a mixture of heavy cream and chocolate.  The cream and chocolate are heated and melted together to create a thick mixture called ganache.  Traditionally, the ganache is rolled into a spherical shape and then cover in cocoa powder or ground nuts; like hazelnuts, almonds or sometimes coconut.
